...LIGHT SNOW AND FLURRIES THIS AFTERNOON...MAINLY NORTHERN AREAS
AND PLATEAU...BUT POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR A MORE SIGNIFICANT SNOW EVENT IN
MID STATE SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY...

A CLIPPER SYSTEM IS MOVING THROUGH MIDDLE TENNESSEE AT THIS TIME.
CURRENTLY LIGHT SNOW AND FLURRIES ARE MOVING ACROSS NORTHERN
MIDDLE TENNESSEE AND ALONG THE PLATEAU. SNOW AMOUNTS SO FAR HAVE
BEEN SKIMPY WITH ONLY A DUSTING AS OF NOON. HOWEVER...COLDER AIR IS
DIVING INTO THE AREA AND THE UPPER LEVEL DISTURANCE REMAINS TO OUR
NORTHWEST AND YET TO MOVE ACROSS OUR AREA. ONE TO TWO INCHES OF
SNOW IS STILL POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON NORTHEASTERN AREAS...BUT MAINLY
ALONG THE PLATEAU...WITH ONLY A DUSTING EXPECTED IN THE NASHVILLE
AREA.

THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR A MORE SIGNIFICANT SNOW EVENT FOR MIDDLE
TENNESSEE SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY AS A SURFACE LOW IS FORECAST
TO DEVELOP OFF THE SOUTHEAST TEXAS COAST AND MOVE ALONG THE GULF
COAST WHILE SPREADING SNOW ACROSS THE TENNESSEE VALLEY...INCLUDING
MIDDLE TENNESSEE. THE POTENTIAL FOR THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL EXISTS
ACROSS SOUTHERN AREAS OF THE MID STATE WHERE FOUR INCHES OF SNOW IS
POSSIBLE...WITH TWO TO FOUR INCHES POSSIBLE SOUTH OF INTERSTATE
40 AND ONE TO TWO INCHES NORTH OF INTERSTATE 40. EXACT AMOUNTS
WITH THIS EVENT WILL DEPEND ON THE FINAL STORM TRACK.
