AREAS AFFECTED...WRN TN...NE MS...NCNTRL AL...NCNTRL GA

CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 723...

VALID 040625Z - 040800Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 723
CONTINUES.

A SEVERE THREAT WILL LIKELY CONTINUE EARLY THIS MORNING FROM WRN TN
SEWD INTO NRN AL AND GA. THE MAIN THREAT WILL BE FOR WIND DAMAGE
WITH THE MORE INTENSE BOWING LINE-SEGMENTS. WW ISSUANCE REMAINS
POSSIBLE ACROSS WRN TN AND NRN GA AND MAY BE NEEDED SHORTLY.

A FRAGMENTED MCS WITH SEVERAL LINE-SEGMENTS IS ONGOING NEAR A SFC
COLD FRONT EXTENDING EWD FROM NEAR MEMPHIS TO CHATTANOOGA. ALONG AND
SOUTH OF THE FRONT...MESOANALYSIS SHOWS A STRONGLY UNSTABLE AIRMASS
WITH MLCAPE VALUES ESTIMATED IN THE 2000 TO 3500 J/KG RANGE. IN
ADDITION...A PRONOUNCED 35 TO 45 KT 700 MB JET MAX IS LOCATED ON THE
NRN SIDE OF THE MCS WHICH IS HELPING TO ENHANCE THE WEAKLY SHEARED
ENVIRONMENT ENOUGH FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT. THE THINKING
NOW IS THAT THE STORMS IN WRN TN WILL REMAIN STRONG DUE TO PROXIMITY
TO MAXIMIZED INSTABILITY AND THAT THE NRN GA LINE SEGMENT WILL ALSO
MAINTAIN INTENSITY AS IT MOVES SWD WHERE A POCKET OF MODERATE
INSTABILITY EXISTS.
