NASHVILLE EXPERIENCED A VERY COLD FEBRUARY. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
34.4 DEGREES...WHICH IS 6.9 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. ALSO...IT WAS THE
12TH COLDEST FEBRUARY ON RECORD...AND THE COLDEST SINCE 1979. O
THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE WAS 67 ON THE 21ST...WHILE THE COLDEST WAS
17 DEGREES ON THE FIRST. TOTAL PRECIPITATION WAS 2.77 INCHES...WHICH
IS 0.92 INCH BELOW NORMAL. SNOWFALL WAS 2.3 INCHES...WHICH IS 1.1
INCHES BELOW NORMAL.

CROSSVILLE AVERAGED 30.6 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH...8.5 DEGREES BELOW
NORMAL. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 59 DEGREES ON THE 21ST...WHILE
THE COLDEST WAS 16 ON THE FIRST AND 10TH. TOTAL PRECIPITATION WAS
3.23 INCHES...WHICH IS 1.10 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.

CLARKSVILLE AVERAGED 32.5 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH AND TABULATED 1.40
INCHES OF PRECIPITATION. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 66 DEGREES ON
THE 21ST...AND THE COLDEST WAS 9 ON THE FIRST.

THERE WERE SEVERAL SNOW EVENTS DURING THE MONTH. ON THE 8TH AND
9TH...1 TO 3 INCHES OF SNOW WAS REPORTED ACROSS THE NORTHWEST
HALF OF THE MID STATE....WITH 4 TO 6 INCHES OVER FAR NORTHWEST.
ON THE MORNING OF THE 10TH...ISOLATED 1 TO 3 INC AMOUNTS WERE
REPORTED OVER THE NORTHERN PLATEAU.

FINALLY...ON THE MORNING OF THE 15TH...THE WESTERN HALF OF THE MID
STATE AVERAGED AROUND AN INCH OF SNOW...WHILE THE EASTERN HALF
AVERAGED 1 TO 3 INCHES....WITH 3 TO 5 INCHES HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF
THE PLATEAU.

FOR THE METEOROLOGICAL WINTER MONTHS (DECEMBER,JANUARY AND FEBRUARY)
NASHVILLE AIRPORT AVERAGED 35.6 DEGREES WHICH IS 4 DEGREES BELOW
NORMAL. ALSO...IT WAS THE 11TH COLDEST WINTER EVER AND THE COLDEST
SINCE THE WINTER OF 1978-1979. ALSO...IT WAS THE FIRST TIME SINCE
THE WINTER OF 1977-1978 THAT ALL 3 WINTER MONTHS WERE BELOW NORMAL.

TOTAL PRECIPITATION AT NASHVILLE WAS 10.89 INCHES WHICH IS 1.31
INCHES BELOW NORMAL. SNOWFALL TOTALED 7.1 INCHES...WHICH IS 0.7 INCH
BELOW NORMAL.

AT CROSSVILLE...THE AVERAGE WINTER TEMPERATURE WAS 32.7
DEGREES...WHICH IS 5 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. TOTAL PRECIPITATION WAS
15.97 INCHES....WHICH IS 1.33 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL.

FOR CLARKSVILLE...THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE WINTER WAS 33.8
DEGREES
AND THE TOTAL PRECIPITATION WAS 6.02 INCHES.
