...HOT TEMPERATURES AND HUMID CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE THURSDAY...
...BUT CHANGES ARE IN STORE FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK...

A LARGE DOME OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL CONTINUE OVER THE SOUTHEASTERN
STATES THROUGH THURSDAY...PRODUCING ANOTHER HOT AND SULTRY DAY
ACROSS THE MID STATE. EVEN THOUGH AFTERNOON HIGH TEMPERATURES
ACROSS THE MID STATE ARE EXPECTED TO BE GENERALLY A COUPLE OF
DEGREES COOLER ON THURSDAY THAN THE PREVIOUS FEW DAYS...
AS AFTERNOON HIGHS ACROSS THE AREA WILL AGAIN APPROACH THE MID
90S...WITH HEAT INDEX VALUES AROUND 100 DEGREES GENERALLY ALONG
WEST OF THE PLATEAU....LOWER TO MID 90S PLATEAU.

SOME TEMPORARILY RELIEF IN YOUR LOCATION MAY BE PROVIDED ON
THURSDAY AS SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO
DEVELOP ACROSS THE MID STATE...ESPECIALLY DURING THE AFTERNOON
HOURS.

HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS TO HELP COPE WITH THIS HEAT AND HUMIDITY...

DRINK PLENTY OF NON ALCOHOLIC FLUIDS.

WEAR A HAT...LIGHT WEIGHT AND LIGHT COLORED CLOTHING TO HELP
REFLECT THE SUNLIGHT.

TAKE FREQUENT REST BREAKS IN THE SHADE..AND TRY TO AVOID SUNBURN.

NEVER LEAVE A CHILD IN A HOT CAR...EVEN THE SHORTEST PERIOD OF
TIME. TEMPERATURES CAN RISE QUICKLY INSIDE A CLOSED VEHICLE...
AND THIS CAN RESULT IN CONDITIONS BECOMING DEADLY QUICKLY.

KEEP AN EYE ON ELDERLY NEIGHBORS AND BE SURE THEY ARE COPING WELL
WITH THE HEAT.

PROVIDE PETS EXTRA WATER AND REPLACE IT OFTEN. YOU MIGHT EVEN
WANT TO BRING YOUR PETS INDOORS DURING THE HOTTEST PART OF THE
DAY.

THE GOOD NEWS...FOR THOSE WANTING TO EXPERIENCE SOME RAINFALL...IS
AN EXPECTED RELIEF FROM THE HOT AND HUMID WEATHER OF THE PAST FEW
DAYS. CHANGE IS ON THE WAY....AS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE
EXPECTED TO BECOME SCATTERED DURING THE DAY AND ISOLATED DURING
THE EVENING HOURS OVER THE NEXT THREE TO FIVE DAYS...AS SEVERAL
SUMMERTIME COLD FRONTS DROP ACROSS THE TENNESSEE VALLEY. IN
FACT...THE SECOND COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE ON MONDAY IS EXPECTED TO
USHER IN MUCH MORE SEASONABLE WEATHER...WITH HIGHS LOWERING TO
AROUND 90 ON MONDAY...AND INTO THE UPPER 80S THROUGH MID
WEEK...ACCOMPANIED BY LOWER HUMIDITIES.
