...A HEAT ADVISORY MAY BE ISSUED LATER TODAY OR TONIGHT FOR
LOCATIONS WEST OF THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU REGION FOR FRIDAY AFTERNOON...
...ABOVE NORMAL HEAT AND HUMIDITY WILL CONTINUE THROUGH AT LEAST
NEXT WEDNESDAY...

THE STRONG BERMUDA HIGH INFLUENCE OF THE PREVIOUS DAYS WILL AGAIN
MAINTAIN ITS GRIP ON THE MIDDLE TENNESSEE WEATHER PATTERN AT LEAST
THROUGH THE WEEKEND AND INTO THE FIRST PART OF NEXT WEEK. AS A
RESULT...HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL GENERALLY REMAIN 5 TO 10 DEGREES
ABOVE CLIMATE NORMS FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR...WITH AFTERNOON HIGHS
IN THE MID 90'S THROUGH AT LEAST NEXT WEDNESDAY...ACROSS MOST OF
THE MID STATE.

ON THIS FRIDAY...UPPER 90'S WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS MANY LOCATIONS
WEST OF THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU REGION...AS RAIN FREE CONDITIONS
ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE ENTIRE MID STATE. A HEAT ADVISORY MAY NEED
TO BE ISSUED FOR FRIDAY AFTERNOON LATER TODAY OR TONIGHT.

THUS...AFTERNOON HEAT INDEX VALUES WILL GENERALLY RANGE FROM
100 TO 104 DEGREES...FOR LOCATIONS WEST OF THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU.
THOSE 104 DEGREE READINGS WILL GENERALLY BE IN LOCATIONS IN THE
VICINITY OF THE TENNESSEE RIVER VALLEY REGION. IT CAN NOT BE RULED
OUT...FOR A SHORT PERIODS OF TIME THIS AFTERNOON...THAT HEAT
INDEX VALUES MAY REACH OR EXCEED 105 DEGREES IN ISOLATED LOCATIONS.

DESPITE NOT HAVING HIGH TEMPERATURES GENERALLY IN THE MID 90S...
WITH HEAT INDEX VALUES RANGING BETWEEN 100 AND 104 DEGREES...
AFTERNOON HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL STILL BE AT LEAST 5 DEGREES
ABOVE CLIMATE NORMS ACROSS THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU REGION...WHERE
AFTERNOON HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL GENERALLY RANGE FROM THE UPPER
80S TO THE LOWER 90S THROUGH NEXT WEDNESDAY ALSO.

SOME SLIGHT RELIEF IS IN SIGHT...AS SIGHTLY DRIER AIR IS STILL
LIKELY TO INFILTRATE THE MID STATE BY EARLY NEXT WEEK...WHICH
WILL POSSIBLY RELIEVE SOME OF THE HUMIDITY AND REDUCE HEAT
INDICES BY A FEW DEGREES.

IN ADDITION...OVERNIGHT LOWS FROM TONIGHT THROUGH AT LEAST NEXT
TUESDAY NIGHT WILL REMAIN PRIMARILY IN THE MID 70'S...WITH LOWS
AROUND 70 ACROSS THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU REGION.

AS A RESULT...BE ADVISED THAT SUCH TEMPERATURES CAN LEAD TO A
VARIETY OF SERIOUS HEALTH PROBLEMS...SUCH AS SUNSTROKE...HEAT
CRAMPS...AND HEAT EXHAUSTION...WITH PROLONGED EXPOSURE OR PHYSICAL
ACTIVITY. IF YOU MUST BE OUTSIDE DURING THE AFTERNOON...IT IS BEST
TO TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.

PRECAUTIONS...PLEASE VISIT NASHVILLE'S NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
