...NO RELIEF FROM THE HEAT IN SIGHT...

A STRONG BERMUDA HIGH WILL MAINTAIN ITS GRIP ON MIDDLE TENNESSEE
AT LEAST THROUGH THE WEEKEND AND EARLY PART OF NEXT WEEK. AS A
RESULT, HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN MAINLY IN THE MID TO UPPER
90'S THE NEXT 7 DAYS ACROSS MOST OF THE MID STATE, EXCEPT
LOCATIONS ACROSS THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU. HEAT INDICES OFF THE
PLATEAU WILL RANGE FROM 99 TO 104 DEGREES EVERY DAY THROUGH
SUNDAY. SIGHTLY DRIER AIR WILL INFILTRATE THE MID STATE BY MONDAY,
WHICH WILL RELIEVE SOME OF THE HUMIDITY AND REDUCE HEAT INDICES
SOMEWHAT.

EVEN SOME CUMBERLAND PLATEAU LOCATIONS WILL SEE AFTERNOON
TEMPERATURE TOP 90 DEGREES THROUGHOUT THE NEXT 7 DAYS.

IN ADDITION, OVERNIGHT LOWS FROM TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT WILL
REMAIN PRIMARILY IN THE MID 70'S, AND IN THE LOWER 70'S ALONG THE
CUMBERLAND PLATEAU.

BE ADVISED THAT SUCH TEMPERATURES CAN LEAD TO A VARIETY OF SERIOUS
HEALTH PROBLEMS, SUCH AS SUNSTROKE, HEAT CRAMPS, AND HEAT
EXHAUSTION WITH PROLONGED EXPOSURE OR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY. IF YOU
MUST BE OUTSIDE DURING THE AFTERNOON, IT IS BEST TO TAKE FREQUENT
BREAKS AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.
