JUNE, 2010 WILL GO DOWN AS THE SIXTH WARMEST JUNE IN NASHVILLE'S
HISTORY. A PROLONGED HEAT WAVE PRODUCED 21 DAYS WHEN THE HIGH
TEMPERATURE REACHED 90 DEGREES OR ABOVE. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE
WAS 96 DEGREES, REACHED ON BOTH THE 21ST AND 22ND. BY COMPARISON,
THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF 90 DEGREE DAYS IN JUNE IS 10.

THE COOLEST READING OBSERVED FOR THE MONTH WAS 59 DEGREES, WHICH
OCCURRED ON THE 7TH.

THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE FOR JUNE WAS 91.5 DEGREES. THE
AVERAGE LOW WAS 70.2, FOR A MONTHLY MEAN TEMPERATURE OF 80.9
DEGREES. IT'S THE WARMEST JUNE IN NASHVILLE SINCE 1953.

IT WAS ALSO WETTER THAN NORMAL, AS NASHVILLE MEASURED 4.96 INCHES
OF RAINFALL FOR THE MONTH, WHICH WAS 0.88 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL. THE
WETTEST DAY OCCURRED ON THE 9TH, WHEN 1.55 INCHES OF RAIN FELL. ON
THE 17TH, 1.29 INCHES OF RAIN FELL. RAINFALL WAS MEASURED ON A
TOTAL OF TEN DAYS, AND THERE WERE ALSO TEN THUNDERSTORM DAYS FOR
