...THE FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES FOR THE FOLLOWING RIVERS IN TENNESSEE...

  CUMBERLAND RIVER AT NASHVILLE AFFECTING DAVIDSON COUNTY

.HEAVY RAINFALL AMOUNTS YESTERDAY AND LAST NIGHT WILL CAUSE RIVER
LEVELS TO RISE ALONG THE CUMBERLAND RIVER AT NASHVILLE AS WATER IS
RELEASED FROM OLD HICKORY DAM THROUGH THIS EVENING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

AVOID FLOODED AREAS ALONG THE RIVER...AND MOVE PERSONAL BELONGINGS TO HIGHER
GROUND. NEVER DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED ROADS AS THE DEPTH OF WATER MAY BE TOO GREAT
TO PASS...EVEN IN TRUCKS OR SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES. IF YOU COME ACROSS A FLOODED
ROAD...TURN AROUND DON'T DROWN.

THE FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES FOR
  THE CUMBERLAND RIVER AT NASHVILLE
* UNTIL FRIDAY MORNING.
* AT 02PM THURSDAY THE STAGE WAS 33.1 FEET AND RISING.
* MINOR FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 40.0 FEET.
* FORECAST TO RISE TO NEAR 40 FEET BY MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. THE RIVER WILL THEN
  SLOWLY FALL THROUGH TOMORROW AFTERNOON.
* AT 40.0 FEET...FLOODING BEGINS ALONG THE RIVER IN AND AROUND THE NASHVILLE
  METROPOLITAN AREA. FLOOD WATERS APPROACH SOME INDUSTRIAL AREAS DOWNTOWN AND
  CUMBERLAND FIELD AIRPORT.
* AT 39.0 FEET...WATER OVERFLOWS THE RIVER BANK ALONG PENNINGTON BEND NEAR OPRY
  MILLS AND APPROACHES THE LANDING AT RIVERFRONT PARK IN DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE.
* AT 38.5 FEET...WATER REACHES SEVERAL LOW LYING AREAS ALONG THE CUMBERLAND
  RIVER IN AND AROUND THE NASHVILLE AREA. THE PENNINGTON BEND AREA NEAR OPRY
  MILLS BEGINS TO FLOOD.
* AT 38.0 FEET...WATER BEGINS TO INUNDATE THE THIRD GRASSY AREA OF THE
  RIVERFRONT LANDING IN DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE AND PAVED WALKING AND BIKING TRAILS
  IN THE SHELBY BOTTOMS AREA.
* AT 34.0 FEET...IN DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE WATER REACHES THE SECOND GRASSY AREA OF
  THE RIVERFRONT LANDING AND COVERS MOST OF THE ACCESS AREA ON THE EAST SIDE OF
  THE RIVER NEAR L P FIELD. IN EAST NASHVILLE WATER REACHES DIRT TRAILS IN THE
  SHELBY BOTTOMS PARK AREA.
* AT 30.0 FEET...IN DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE THE FIRST GRASSY AREA OF THE RIVERFRONT
  LANDING...AND THE ACCESS POINT ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE RIVER NEAR L P FIELD
  ARE INUNDATED.
* AT 25.0 FEET...IN DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE THE RIVERFRONT AREAS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE
  RIVER BEGIN TO BE INUNDATED.
