THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

       EASTERN ALABAMA
       NORTHWEST GEORGIA
       SOUTHEAST TENNESSEE

EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY NIGHT FROM 830 PM UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND
GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE
AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 30 STATUTE
MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 45 MILES NORTH OF CHATTANOOGA
TENNESSEE TO 35 MILES SOUTH SOUTHEAST OF ANNISTON ALABAMA.  FOR A

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR

AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

DISCUSSION...LINE OF SEVERE/SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUES TO
DEVELOP SOUTHWARD INTO CENTRAL AL...AND MOVE EASTWARD ACROSS TN/AL.
STORMS ARE APPROACHING THE EASTERN EXTENT OF SUFFICIENT
INSTABILITY...SO LONG TERM THREAT MAY BE LIMITED.
HOWEVER...ISOLATED STORMS MAY POSE A RISK OF LARGE HAIL AND ISOLATED
TORNADOES FOR ANOTHER 2-3 HOURS.

AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 2 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE
