...A TORNADO STRIKES NEAR LORETTO...

A NWS STORM SURVEY HAS DETERMINED THAT AN EF1 TORNADO
(86-110 MPH) STRUCK 2.6 MILES WEST OF LORETTO AROUND 1235 PM CDT
THURSDAY MAY 8, 2008. A LARGE TREE FELL ON A HOUSE AT 834 CLAX BRANCH
RD. A NUMBER OF TREES WERE SNAPPED AND UPROOTED. A BARN ON CLAX
BRANCH ROAD WAS DESTROYED. THE PATH LENGTH WAS 3 MILES AND THE
PATH WIDTH WAS ABOUT 440 YARDS.

THE NWS STORM SURVEY HAS DETERMINED THAT A MICROBURST STRUCK
NEAPOLIS...AT 140 PM CDT. MAY 8, 2008. A FEW TREES WERE UPROOTED
AND WINDS WERE ABOUT 80 MPH. NEAPOLIS IS ABOUT 4 MILES SOUTHWEST
OF SPRING HILL.
