FEBRUARY AVERAGED 42.9 DEGREES AT THE AIRPORT...WHICH IS 1.6 DEGREES
ABOVE NORMAL. IT WAS THE TENTH MONTH IN A ROW OF ABOVE NORMAL
TEMPERATURES. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 72 DEGREES ON THE 5TH AND
THE COLDEST WAS 19 DEGREES ON THE 14TH. TOTAL PRECIPITATION FOR THE
MONTH WAS 2.53 INCHES...WHICH IS 1.16 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. THERE WAS
1.2 INCHES OF SNOW.

OF COURSE...THE WEATHER EVENT OF THE MONTH FOR THE MID STATE WAS THE
SUPER TUESDAY TORNADO OUTBREAK OF FEBRUARY 5TH AND 6TH. 23
FATALITIES OCCURRED TUESDAY NIGHT NORTHEAST OF NASHVILLE...13 IN
MACON COUNTY...8 IN SUMNER COUNTY...AND 2 IN TROUSDALE COUNTY. OTHER
TORNADOES OCCURRED IN WILLIAMSON COUNTY SOUTHWEST TO WAYNE
COUNTY...AND IN BENTON...STEWART...DICKSON AND SUMNER COUNTIES...13
TORNADOES IN ALL. DESTRUCTION WAS PHENOMENAL...COSTING WELL INTO THE
MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. IT WAS THE WORST TORNADO OUTBREAK ACROSS THE
MID STATE SINCE 1974...AND THE SINGLE DEADLIEST TORNADO SINCE 1933.

SNOWFALL ON THE 26TH AND 27TH AVERAGED A HALF TO INCH ACROSS MOST
OF THE REGION...EXCEPT FOR THE PLATEAU WHERE 1 TO 3 INCHES WAS
WIDESPREAD...AND LOCALLY HEAVIER AMOUNTS WERE REPORTED ACROSS NORTH
PORTIONS.

CROSSVILLE AVERAGED 40.7 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH...WHICH IS 1.6
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 67 DEGREES ON THE
5TH AND THE COLDEST WAS 16 ON THE 27TH AND 28TH. TOTAL PRECIPITATION
WAS 4.40 INCHES...WHICH IS NEAR NORMAL.

CLARKSVILLE AVERAGED 38.7 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH AND TABULATED 1.98
INCHES OF PRECIPITATION. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 68 DEGREES ON
THE 17TH..WHILE THE COLDEST WAS 18 DEGREES ON THE 13TH.

FOR THE SEASONAL MONTHS OF DECEMBER...JANUARY AND FEBRUARY NASHVILLE
AVERAGED 42.1 DEGREES...WHICH IS 2.6 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. TOTAL
PRECIPITATION WAS 11.12 INCHES...WHICH IS 1.08 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.

CROSSVILLE AVERAGED 40.1 DEGREES FOR THE 3 MONTHS...WHICH IS 2.4
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. TOTAL PRECIPITATION WAS 10.88 INCHES..WHICH IS
3.76 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.
