TENNESSEE AND PLATEAU UNTIL 8 PM CDT...

AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES REACHING WELL INTO THE MID AND UPPER 90S
ACROSS THE AREA...COUPLED WITH A COLD POOL ALOFT...HAS PROMPTED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH ACROSS PARTS OF EASTERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE
AND THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS BLEW TREES DOWN IN SMITH AND CLAY COUNTIES
AROUND 4 PM CDT. IN THE SHORT TERM...MORE SEVERE STORMS ARE LIKELY
ACROSS...SMITH...DEKALB...PUTNAM...WHITE AND CUMBERLAND COUNTIES.
SEVERE STORMS MAY ALSO DEVELOP ACROSS PARTS OF WILSON...RUTHERFORD...AND
SUMNER COUNTIES DURING THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO.

AS WE GO INTO THE EARLY EVENING...SEVERE STORMS WILL BE DROPPING
