...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL ACROSS MUCH OF MID TENNESSEE THIS MORNING...

SNOW THAT FELL LAST EVENING AND OVERNIGHT HAS LEFT MANY MID STATE
ROADS COVERED WITH PATCHES OF ICE AND SNOW. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT
PROBLEMS WERE REPORTED ACROSS THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU WHERE 1 TO 3
INCHES OF SNOW FELL. THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU REMAINS UNDER A SNOW
ADVISORY THROUGH THE MORNING FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF ANOTHER INCH
OF SNOWFALL.

FOR OTHER PARTS OF THE MID STATE...ACCUMULATIONS WERE UNDER 1 INCH
IN MOST AREAS. VERY COLD TEMPERATURES HAVE CAUSED THE LEFTOVER
MOISTURE TO FREEZE IN SOME SPOTS...ESPECIALLY ON BRIDGES AND
OVERPASSES. SOME ROADS WERE COVERED BY PATCHES OF
SNOW...ESPECIALLY EAST OF NASHVILLE. A FEW LINGERING SNOW SHOWERS
WILL BE POSSIBLE FOR MUCH OF THE MID STATE THROUGH MID
MORNING...AND THESE SNOW SHOWERS COULD LEAVE BEHIND A DUSTING OF
NEW SNOWFALL TO ADD TO THE SLICK CONDITIONS.

TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN BELOW FREEZING FOR MOST OF THE
MORNING...SO UNTREATED ROADS MAY BE SLOW TO IMPROVE. MOTORISTS ARE
URGED TO BE VERY CAUTIOUS THIS MORNING.
