...JANUARY 2008 NEAR NORMAL...

JANUARY AVERAGED 37.0 DEGREES AT THE AIRPORT...WHICH IS ABOUT
NORMAL. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 71 DEGREES ON THE 7TH AND THE
COLDEST WAS 11 DEGREES ON THE 20TH AND 25TH. TOTAL RAINFALL FOR THE
MONTH WAS 4.76 INCHES...WHICH IS 0.79 ABOVE NORMAL. THERE WAS A
TRACE OF SNOW.

THERE WERE SEVERAL SEVERE WEATHER EPISODES DURING THE MONTH...BUT
THANKFULLY NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. ON THE EVENING OF THE
8TH...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FELLED TREES IN THE WESTERN PORTIONS OF
THE MID STATE. ON THE EVENING OF THE 29TH...MORE WIDESPREAD DAMAGE
WAS REPORTED...AND MUCH OF THE DAMAGE WAS ASSOCIATED WITH
NON-THUNDERSTORM WINDS ALONG THE COLD FRONT. NASHVILLE AIRPORT
RECORDED A WIND GUST OF 49 MPH.

CROSSVILLE AVERAGED 34.4 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH...WHICH IS 0.7
DEGREE BELOW NORMAL. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 64 DEGREES ON THE
7TH AND THE COLDEST WAS 5 ON THE 20TH. TOTAL PRECIPITATION WAS 3.45
INCHES...WHICH IS 1.70 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.

CLARKSVILLE AVERAGED 35.0 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH AND TABULATED 5.61
INCHES OF PRECIPITATION. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 69 DEGREES ON
THE 7TH..WHILE THE COLDEST WAS 8 DEGREES ON THE 20TH.
