...MARCH 2008 PRETTY NORMAL...

MARCH AVERAGED 50.2 DEGREES AT THE AIRPORT...WHICH IS .1 DEGREE
ABOVE NORMAL. IT WAS THE ELEVENTH MONTH IN A ROW OF ABOVE NORMAL
TEMPERATURES. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 74 DEGREES ON THE
THIRD...13TH AND 27TH AND THE COLDEST WAS 23 DEGREES ON THE 9TH.
TOTAL PRECIPITATION FOR THE MONTH WAS 5.56 INCHES...WHICH IS 0.69
INCH ABOVE NORMAL. THERE WAS 0.8 INCH OF SNOW. TOTAL SNOWFALL FOR
THE SEASON WAS 2 INCHES...WHICH IS 7 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.

THERE WERE SEVERAL WEATHER EVENTS DURING THE MONTH. THE FIRST WAS ON
THE NIGHT OF THE THIRD WHEN OVER 3 INCHES OF RAIN IN THE NORTHWEST
COUNTIES CAUSED MINOR FLOODING ALONG THE HARPETH RIVER NEAR KINGSTON
SPRINGS IN CHEATHAM COUNTY. SOME FLOODING OF SMALL RIVERS AND
STREAMS WAS ALSO REPORTED IN THE AREA AS WELL. THE NEXT EVENT WAS
THE SNOWFALL OF THE 7TH AND 8TH. MOST AREAS ACROSS THE MID STATE
RECEIVED 1 OR 2 INCHES...BUT AREAS OVER THE NORTHWEST AND WEST
CENTRAL RECEIVED 6 TO 12 INCHES. PARTS OF DAVIDSON COUNTY REPORTED
UP TO 5 INCHES. AND FINALLY...SOME SEVERE WEATHER AND FLOODING
OCCURRED ON THE 18TH AND 19TH. OVER 2 INCHES OF RAIN FELL OVER THE
NORTHWEST COUNTIES...AND THE FLOODING WAS MODERATE ALONG THE HARPETH
RIVER FOR A TIME.

CROSSVILLE AVERAGED 46.4 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH...WHICH IS 0.7 DEGREE
BELOW NORMAL. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 69 DEGREES ON THE 13TH AND
19TH...WHILE THE COLDEST WAS 17 ON THE 9TH. TOTAL PRECIPITATION WAS
5.78 INCHES...WHICH IS 0.29 INCH BELOW NORMAL.
