...THE FLOOD ADVISORY FOR MINOR FLOODING OF POOR DRAINAGE AREAS
REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 915 PM CDT FOR SMITH COUNTY...

AT 740 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED AREAS OF LIGHT RAIN ACROSS SMITH
COUNTY. HOWEVER...ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS...WITH MORE LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINS...COULD MOVE INTO THE AREA LATER THIS EVENING AND PRODUCE
ADDITIONAL RUNOFF ALONG AREA STREAMS AND CREEKS.

DOPPLER RADAR INDICATES THAT AT LEAST 3 INCHES OF RAIN FELL OVER NORTHERN
SMITH COUNTY EARLIER THIS EVENING...NORTH OF CARTHAGE...ALONG PEYTON CREEK.
ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL THIS EVENING...WILL ONLY AGGRAVATE ANY SMALL STREAM
OR URBAN FLOODING IN THAT AREA.

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS RIVER OR STREAM FLOWS ARE ELEVATED OR PONDING
OF WATER IN URBAN OR OTHER AREAS IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
