THE TEMPERATURE FOR 2007 IS AVERAGING 62.3 DEGREES IN NASHVILLE.
THIS IS 3.4 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL...AND JUST TWO TENTHS OF ONE DEGREE
SHY OF THE WARMEST YEAR ON RECORD...WHICH WAS BACK IN 1921 WHEN THE
TEMPERATURE AVERAGED 62.5 DEGREES. THE NORMAL ANNUAL TEMPERATURE IN
NASHVILLE IS 58.9 DEGREES. TEMPERATURES ARE FORECAST TO BE ABOVE
NORMAL FROM NOW THROUGH THE END OF DECEMBER. IF THIS HAPPENS...
NASHVILLE COULD END UP CLOSE TO HAVING ITS WARMEST YEAR IN THE 137
YEARS OF RECORD KEEPING.

THROUGH DECEMBER 25TH NASHVILLE IS HAVING ITS 8TH DRIEST YEAR ON
RECORD AND THE DRIEST SINCE 1988. RAINFALL SO FAR THIS YEAR HAS
TOTALED 34.60 INCHES WHICH IS 72 PERCENT OF THE 30 YEAR NORMAL
ANNUAL RAINFALL OF 48.11 INCHES.

THE TEMPERATURE FOR JANUARY 2007 WAS 4.9 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
THIS WAS THE FOURTH CONSECUTIVE JANUARY WITH ABOVE NORMAL
TEMPERATURES. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 71 DEGREES ON THE
13TH...AND THE COLDEST WAS 11 DEGREES ON THE 29TH. THIS ALSO WAS
THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE OBSERVED DURING THE WINTER OF 2006 AND 2007.
RAINFALL FOR JANUARY 2007 WAS SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL WITH 3.32 INCHES
FALLING DURING THE MONTH. ONLY A TRACE OF SNOW FELL DURING THE MONTH.

                            FEBRUARY

IN FEBRUARY 2007 NASHVILLE HAD ITS COLDEST FEBRUARY SINCE 1985.THE
TEMPERATURE WAS 4.2 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL FOR THE MONTH.THE WARMEST
TEMPERATURE DURING THE MONTH WAS 75 DEGREES ON THE 28TH.THE COLDEST
TEMPERATURE WAS 13 DEGREES ON THE 16TH. RAINFALL TOTALED ONLY 1.84
INCHES. THIS IS 1.85 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.SNOWFALL TOTALED 2.2 INCHES.

RAINFALL FOR DECEMBER 2006...JANUARY AND FEBRUARY 2007 TOTALED
8.57 INCHES...MAKING IT THE 19TH DRIEST WINTER ON RECORD...AND THE
DRIEST SINCE THE WINTER OF 1985 AND 1986.

                              MARCH

THE TEMPERATURE FOR MARCH 2007 WAS 8.1 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL...MAKING
IT THE 6TH WARMEST MARCH ON RECORD AND THE WARMEST SINCE 1946.
THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE DURING THE MONTH WAS 86 DEGREES ON THE
25TH AND 26TH. THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE WAS 26 DEGREES ON THE 5TH.
A NEW RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS SET ON MARCH 25TH WHEN THE
TEMPERATURE REACHED 86 DEGREES BREAKING A 100 YEAR OLD RECORD. THE
PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 85 DEGREES SET IN 1907.THE HIGH ON MARCH 26TH
WAS ALSO 86 DEGREES WHICH TIED THE RECORD HIGH FOR THE DATE SET
PREVIOUSLY IN 1910. RAINFALL TOTALED 2.26 INCHES WHICH WAS 2.61
INCHES BELOW NORMAL. MARCH 2007 WAS THE DRIEST MARCH SINCE 1988. NO
SNOW FELL IN MARCH.

                              APRIL

THE TEMPERATURE FOR APRIL 2007 WAS 1.2 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE
WARMEST TEMPERATURE DURING THE MONTH WAS 87 DEGREES ON THE 30TH AND
THE COLDEST WAS 23 DEGREES ON THE 8TH. THE 23 DEGREES ON APRIL 8TH
2007...NOT ONLY BROKE THE RECORD FOR THE DATE BUT IT ALSO
ESTABLISHED A NEW RECORD FOR THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE SO LATE IN THE
SEASON. THE 23 DEGREES ON APRIL 8TH IS ALSO THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE
EVER RECORDED ON EASTER IN NASHVILLE. APRIL 2007 WAS COLDER THAN
MARCH 2007. THIS WAS ONLY THE 5TH TIME SINCE RECORD KEEPING BEGAN
BACK IN 1870 THAT APRIL WAS COLDER THAN MARCH. OTHER TIMES WERE IN
1973...1910...1907 AND IN 1898. IN 1907 APRIL WAS A CHILLY 7.8
DEGREES COLDER THAN MARCH. RAINFALL TOTALED 2.75 INCHES WHICH IS
1.18 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. NO SNOW FELL IN NASHVILLE DURING APRIL BUT
A TRACE WAS OBSERVED ON APRIL 15TH AT THE WEATHER FORECAST OFFICE ON
OLD HICKORY LAKE IN WEST WILSON COUNTY.

                               MAY

THE TEMPERATURE FOR MAY 2007 WAS 4.0 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 89 DEGREES ON THE 29TH AND 30TH.
THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE WAS 46 DEGREES ON THE 20TH. RAINFALL
TOTALED 3.30 INCHES WHICH WAS 1.77 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. NO
MEASURABLE RAIN FELL LAST HALF OF THE MONTH. MAY WAS THE
7TH MONTH IN A ROW WITH BELOW NORMAL RAINFALL.

                           SPRING 2007

RAINFALL FOR THE MONTHS MARCH...APRIL AND MAY 2007 TOTALED 8.31
INCHES MAKING THE SPRING OF 2007 THE 10TH DRIEST ON RECORD IN
NASHVILLE AND THE DRIEST SINCE 1988. SPRING RAINFALL TOTALED
8.31 INCHES.

                              JUNE

THE TEMPERATURE FOR JUNE 2007 WAS 2.8 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 95 DEGREES ON THE 17TH AND THE
COOLEST WAS 59 DEGREES ON THE 21ST. RAINFALL TOTALED 2.37 INCHES
WHICH IS 1.71 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. BY THE END OF JUNE THE DROUGHT
HAD A HOLD ON MUCH OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE INCLUDING NASHVILLE.

                      JANUARY THROUGH JUNE

NASHVILLE HAD ONLY 62 PERCENT OF ITS NORMAL JANUARY
THROUGH JUNE RAINFALL IN 2007. THIS WAS THE 4TH DRIEST FIRST
HALF OF ANY YEAR ON RECORD AND THE DRIEST SINCE 1988.
RAINFALL TOTALED 15.84 INCHES FOR THE FIRST 6 MONTHS OF 2007.
NORMAL RAINFALL FOR JANUARY THROUGH JUNE IS 25.61 INCHES.

                              JULY

THE TEMPERATURE FOR JULY 2007 WAS 0.8 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 95 DEGREES ON THE 19TH
AND THE COOLEST WAS 62 DEGREES ON THE 22ND. RAINFALL
TOTALED 1.47 INCHES WHICH WAS 2.30 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.
JULY 2007 WAS THE 11TH DRIEST ON RECORD AND THE DRIEST
SINCE 1986.

                             AUGUST

    ...AUGUST 2007 WAS THE HOTTEST MONTH ON RECORD IN NASHVILLE...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST 2007 AVERAGED
86.9 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 9.0 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. IT WAS 3.6
DEGREES HOTTER THAN THE HOTTEST AUGUST ON RECORD...WHICH WAS IN
1995...AND THE HOTTEST OF ANY MONTH IN 137 YEARS OF RECORD KEEPING.
PREVIOUSLY...JUNE OF 1952 WAS THE HOTTEST MONTH ON RECORD...WHEN THE
AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE WAS 84.7 DEGREES.

THE SUMMER MONTHS OF JUNE THROUGH AUGUST 2007...ENDED UP 4.2 DEGREES
ABOVE NORMAL...WHICH IS THE HOTTEST SINCE 1952.

THERE WERE 15 DAYS OF 100 DEGREES AND ABOVE IN NASHVILLE DURING
AUGUST 2007. THIS IS THE MOST EVER IN THE MONTH OF AUGUST. THE
PREVIOUS RECORD FOR AUGUST WAS 7 DAYS BACK IN 1954.

THE 15 DAYS OF 100 DEGREES AND ABOVE IN NASHVILLE IS ALSO THE MOST
EVER RECORDED IN A SINGLE MONTH. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 11 DAYS
BACK IN 1952.

THE 15 DAYS OF 100 DEGREES AND ABOVE IS THE 3RD MOST RECORDED DURING
ANY SUMMER ON RECORD. THE MOST EVER RECORDED DURING THE SUMMER
IS 20 DAYS BACK IN 1954...AND THE 2ND MOST IS 19 DAYS IN 1952.

THE 15 DAYS OF 100 DEGREES AND ABOVE IS MORE THAN TWICE WHAT WAS
RECORDED OVER THE ENTIRE 15 YEAR PERIOD BETWEEN 1991 AND 2006.
DURING THOSE 15 YEARS...THERE WERE ONLY 6 DAYS OF 100 DEGREES OR
MORE.

A STRING OF 7 CONSECUTIVE DAYS OF 100 DEGREES AND ABOVE BEGAN ON
AUGUST 12TH...2007. THIS STRING IS ONLY EXCEEDED BY 8 CONSECUTIVE
DAYS BACK IN JUNE OF 1952.

THERE WERE 5 DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORDS SET DURING THE MONTH

EVEN THE NIGHTTIME TEMPERATURES WERE EXCEPTIONALLY WARM DURING THE
MONTH OF AUGUST.

THERE WERE 8 HIGHEST DAILY MINIMUM TEMPERATURE RECORDS EITHER
TIED OR BROKEN DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST 2007. THOSE INCLUDE...

AUGUST 9TH...WHEN THE OVERNIGHT LOW OF 81 DEGREES TIED THE PREVIOUS
RECORD SET IN 1930.

AUGUST 10TH...WHEN THE LOW OF 82 DEGREES BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD
OF 79 DEGREES SET IN 1918. THIS ALSO IS THE WARMEST NIGHTTIME LOW
EVER RECORDED IN THE MONTH OF AUGUST. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 81
DEGREES SET IN 1930.

AUGUST 11TH...WHEN THE LOW OF 77 DEGREES TIED THE PREVIOUS RECORD
SET IN 1934.

AUGUST 17TH...WHEN THE LOW OF 81 DEGREES BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD
OF 79 DEGREES SET IN 1995.

AUGUST 21ST...WHEN THE LOW OF 81 DEGREES BROKE THE PREVIOUS

AUGUST 28TH...WHEN A LOW OF 76 DEGREES TIED THE PREVIOUS RECORD SET
IN 1903.

THERE WAS A RECORD SHATTERING 24 CONSECUTIVE DAYS OF 95 DEGREES
AND ABOVE IN NASHVILLE DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST 2007. A STRING THAT
BEGAN ON AUGUST 2ND AND ENDED ON AUGUST 25TH. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS
19 DAYS SET IN JUNE 1952.

THERE WAS ALSO A RECORD SETTING STRING OF 34 DAYS OF 90 DEGREES

FIFTY FOUR...COOLING DEGREE DAYS WAS RECORDED.

THE TWENTY EIGHT COOLING DEGREES DAYS ON AUGUST 9TH...2007 WAS THE
SECOND MOST ON RECORD FOR A SINGLE DAY...AND THE MOST SINCE JULY
14TH...1954 WHICH HAD THIRTY.

RAINFALL IN NASHVILLE FOR AUGUST TOTALED 1.38 INCHES...MAKING IT
THE DRIEST AUGUST SINCE 1996. THE DRIEST AUGUST ON RECORD WAS
BACK IN 1929 WHEN ONLY 0.51 INCHES FELL.

                            SUMMER 2007

THE SUMMER OF 2007 WAS THE 4TH HOTTEST ON RECORD AND THE HOTTEST
SINCE 1952. THE TEMPERATURE AVERAGED 81.6 DEGREES DURING THE SUMMER
MONTHS OF JUNE...JULY AND AUGUST. THIS IS 4.2 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.

THE SUMMER MONTHS OF JUNE THROUGH AUGUST 2007 WAS THE 3RD DRIEST ON
RECORD IN NASHVILLE...AND THE DRIEST SINCE 1954. FOR JUNE THROUGH
AUGUST...RAINFALL TOTALED 5.22 INCHES. THIS WAS 5.91 INCHES BELOW
NORMAL. THE SUMMER OF 1954 IS THE DRIEST ON RECORD WITH 4.74 INCHES
OF RAIN...FOLLOWED BY 1925 WITH 4.94 INCHES. RAINFALL FROM JANUARY
1ST THROUGH THE END OF AUGUST WAS ONLY 57 PERCENT OF NORMAL.
RAINFALL TOTALED 18.69 INCHES. THIS IS 13.97 INCHES BELOW THE 30
YEAR NORMAL.

                            SEPTEMBER

THE TEMPERATURE FOR SEPTEMBER 2007 WAS 4.5 DEGREE ABOVE NORMAL.
THE WARMEST TEMPREATURE WAS 96 DEGREES ON THE 4TH AND THE
COOLEST WAS 50 DEGREES ON THE 16TH. RAINFALL TOTALED 1.99 INCHES
WHICH IS 1.60 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. IT STARTED ON JULY 27TH AND DIDN'T
END UNTIL SEPTEMBER 11TH. A STREAK OF 46 CONSECUTIVE DAYS OF ABOVE
NORMAL TEMPERATURES IN NASHVILLE. THIS WAS ONE OF THE LONGEST
STREAKS OF ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES IN THE RECORD BOOK.

                              OCTOBER

THE TEMPERATURE FOR OCTOBER 2007 WAS 5.5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 90 DEGREES ON THE 7TH AND 8TH.
THE COOLEST TEMPERATURE WAS 40 DEGREES ON THE 29TH AND 30TH.
THE HIGH TEMPERATURE ON OCTOBER 17TH WAS 86 DEGREES WHICH TIED THE
RECORD HIGH FOR THE DATE SET IN 1965. RAINFALL TOTALED 4.95 INCHES
WHICH IS 2.08 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL. 2.18 INCHES OF RAIN FELL ON
OCTOBER 23RD BREAKING THE CALENDAR DAY RAINFALL RECORD SET
PREVIOUSLY IN 1984 WITH 1.36 INCHES. OCTOBER 2007 WAS THE FIRST

THE TEMPERATURE FOR NOVEMBER 2007 WAS 0.5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 75 DEGREES ON THE 5TH AND 14TH. THE
COOLEST TEMPERATURE WAS 26 DEGREES ON THE 24TH AND 30TH.
NOVEMBER 2007 WAS THE WETTEST NOVEMBER SINCE 2000. RAINFALL
TOTALED 6.20 INCHES IN NOVEMBER 2007 WHICH IS 1.75 INCHES ABOVE
NORMAL. NO SNOW FELL IN NOVEMBER.

                             FALL 2007

THE FALL MONTHS OF SEPTEMBER...OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER WERE THE
12TH WARMEST ON RECORD. THIS WAS THE WARMEST FALL SINCE 1998.
RAINFALL TOTALED 12.98 INCHES WHICH IS 2.07 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL.

                             DECEMBER

DECEMBER 2007 COULD END UP AS ONE OF THE WARMEST DECEMBERS ON RECORD
AND THE WARMEST DECEMBER SINCE 1984. THE TEMPERATURE THROUGH
DECEMBER 25TH IS AVERAGING 5.7 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE WARMEST
TEMPERATURE WAS 76 DEGREES ON THE 11TH AND THE COLDEST WAS 22
DEGREES ON THE 17TH. A HIGH OF 73 DEGREES ON THE 9TH SET A NEW
RECORD FOR THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 71 SET IN 1952. THE
HIGH OF 76 DEGREES ON THE 11TH BROKE A RECORD THAT HAD STOOD FOR 134
YEARS. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 72 SET BACK IN 1873. RAINFALL THROUGH
DECEMBER 25TH HAS TOTALED 2.77 INCHES WHICH IS 0.93 INCHES BELOW
NORMAL. A TRACE OF SNOW HAS FALLEN THIS MONTH.
