...SNOW ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR PLATEAU FROM 3 AM TO 12 PM SUNDAY...

A SURFACE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE
THIS EVENING...AND HEAD NORTHWARD INTO KENTUCKY OVERNIGHT. COLDER
AIR WILL DIVE INTO THE MID STATE ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE LOW
PRESSURE AREA LATER TONIGHT. TEMPERATURES BY DAYBREAK SUNDAY...WILL
BE IN THE UPPER 20S TO MIDDLE 30S ACROSS THE AREA. THE COLDER AIR
WILL CHANGE THE RAIN TO SNOW ACROSS THE NORTHERN PARTS OF THE MID
STATE...AND ALONG THE PLATEAU LATE TONIGHT AND EARLY SUNDAY. POSSIBLE
SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...WILL RANGE FROM 1 TO 2 INCHES ALONG THE
PLATEAU...AND UP TO 1 INCH IS POSSIBLE OVER THE NORTH HALF OF THE
MID STATE. LITTLE OR NO ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED OVER THE SOUTHERN
AREAS OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE.

TEMPERATURES ON SUNDAY WILL RISE LITTLE...WITH HIGHS ONLY IN THE
LOWER TO MIDDLE 30S. SUNDAY NIGHT...TEMPERATURES WILL DROP INTO
THE UPPER TEENS ALONG THE PLATEAU...TO THE LOWER 20S ELSEWHERE.

WE HAVE NOT HAD MEASURABLE SNOW IN NASHVILLE SINCE FEBRUARY 17TH
OF THIS YEAR...WHEN 0.6 INCHES FELL. SNOWFALL THIS PAST WINTER
TOTALED 2.7 INCHES...ALL FALLING IN THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY 2007.

THE LAST TIME NASHVILLE HAD MEASURABLE SNOW IN THE MONTH OF
DECEMBER...WAS BACK IN THE YEAR 2000...WHEN 2.6 INCHES FELL.
