THE TEMPERATURE REACHED 99 DEGREES IN NASHVILLE AT 320 PM CDT
THIS AFTERNOON...MAKING THIS THE HOTTEST DAY SO FAR THIS SUMMER.
TODAY WAS THE ELEVENTH CONSECUTIVE DAY WITH TEMPERATURES 90
DEGREES AND ABOVE. THE LONGEST PERIOD OF CONSECUTIVE DAYS
EVER...WITH 90 DEGREES AND ABOVE...IS 31 WHICH OCCURRED BACK
IN 1952 AND AGAIN IN 1954.

THE LAST TIME NASHVILLE REACHED THE 100 DEGREE MARK WAS LAST YEAR
ON JULY 19TH. AUGUST OF 2006 WAS THE 8TH HOTTEST AUGUST ON
RECORD IN NASHVILLE.

NASHVILLE WEATHER RECORDS DATE BACK TO NOVEMBER 1870.

TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN THE UPPER 90S FOR
AFTERNOON HIGHS DURING THE UPCOMING WORK WEEK...POSSIBLY TOUCHING
