A DEEP UPPER TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WILL SWING ACROSS THE AREA
LATE TONIGHT AND EARLY SUNDAY. THE TROUGH APPEARS TO BE DEEP AND
COLD ENOUGH TO PRODUCE A WET SNOW MIX ACROSS NORTHERN AREAS OF THE
MID STATE...AND PLATEAU LATE TONIGHT AND EARLY SUNDAY. TEMPERATURES
BY DAYBREAK SUNDAY...WILL BE IN THE UPPER 30S ACROSS NORTHERN
AREAS OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE...AND ALONG THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU.

THE LAST TIME SNOW FELL IN NASHVILLE IN THE MONTH OF APRIL WAS
ON APRIL 9TH 2003...WHEN A TRACE FELL. WE ALSO HAD A TRACE ON
APRIL 17TH 2001.

THE LAST TIME...MEASURABLE SNOW FELL...IN THE MONTH OF APRIL IN
NASHVILLE WAS ON APRIL 10TH 1973...WHEN 0.1 INCHES WAS MEASURED.

WE HAD 1.1 INCHES TO FALL IN NASHVILLE ON APRIL 6TH 1971. THIS IS
MOST SNOWFALL EVER IN THE MONTH OF APRIL...SINCE APRIL 25TH 1910
WHEN 1.5 INCHES FELL...WHICH IS THE MOST SNOW EVER TO FALL SO LATE
IN THE SEASON.

THE LATEST SNOWFALL ON RECORD IN NASHVILLE IS MAY 19TH 1894 WHEN
A TRACE FELL.

SNOWFALL RECORDS DATE BACK TO THE WINTER OF 1884 AND 1885...WHEN
THE ARMY SIGNAL CORPS BEGAN KEEPING SNOWFALL RECORDS IN NASHVILLE.
