...HEAVY RAINFALL FELL DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS IN WESTERN AREAS
OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE...

STORM TOTAL RAINFALL RANGED FROM ONE AND HALF TO TWO INCHES ACROSS
PARTS OF WESTERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE INCLUDING...BENTON...HUMPHREYS...
HICKMAN...PERRY...LEWIS AND NORTHERN WAYNE COUNTIES. THE HEAVIEST
RAINFALL FELL IN THE LINDEN AREA OF PERRY COUNTY WHERE TWO AND HALF
INCHES FELL.

A SURFACE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WITH AN INVERTED TROUGH...WILL MOVE
EASTWARD ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE DURING THE DAY. DOPPLER RADARS TO
OUR SOUTH...SHOW HEAVY RAIN MOVING INTO SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE
FROM ALABAMA AND MISSISSIPPI AT THIS TIME. THE HEAVIER RAINFALL IS
EXPECTED TO OCCUR ACROSS SOUTHERN AND EASTERN AREAS OF THE MID
STATE...AND ALONG THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU TODAY...WITH ONE TO TWO
INCHES OF RAIN IN THESE AREAS WITH LOCALLY UP TO THREE INCHES
POSSIBLE ALONG THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU. THESE AREAS RECEIVED ONLY
AROUND ONE QUARTER OF AN IN LAST NIGHT. THE WESTERN AREAS HAD
THE HEAVY RAINFALL LAST NIGHT AND CAN EXPECT LIGHTER RAIN TODAY.
