THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

       CENTRAL AND SOUTHEASTERN KENTUCKY
       NORTHEAST TENNESSEE
       EXTREME SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA

EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON FROM 545 PM UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT.

HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 50
STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 40 MILES NORTHWEST
OF BOWLING GREEN KENTUCKY TO 25 MILES EAST OF BRISTOL TENNESSEE.

SOUTHWEST OF SDF ALONG THE OHIO RIVER. THIS ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO
PROGRESS EASTWARD ALONG SURFACE BOUNDARY ACROSS SOUTHERN KY AND INTO
NORTHEAST TN THIS EVENING.  MODERATE INSTABILITY...FAVORABLE DEEP
LAYER VERTICAL SHEAR...AND APPROACHING SHORTWAVE TROUGH WILL PROMOTE
A RISK OF SEVERE STORMS CAPABLE OF LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS.

AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
