JANUARY WAS 9.3 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL IN NASHVILLE...MAKING
IT THE 10TH WARMEST EVER AND THE WARMEST SINCE 1950. A RECORD
HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS SET ON JANUARY 2ND WITH 75 DEGREES...BREAKING
A RECORD SET BACK IN 1907. A RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS
TIED ON JANUARY 8TH WITH 69 DEGREES...SET WAY BACK IN 1880.

THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE THE ENTIRE MONTH OF JANUARY WAS ONLY
23 DEGREES WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 15TH.

RAINFALL TOTALED 6.57 INCHES IN JANUARY...WHICH WAS 2.60 INCHES
ABOVE NORMAL. THE GREATEST RAINFALL IN 24 HOURS WAS 2.90 INCHES
WHICH FELL ON THE 22ND AND 23RD.

THERE WERE 2 SIGNIFICANT WEATHER EVENTS FOR THE MONTH. ON THE
17TH...THE FIRST WIDESPREAD SNOW OF THE SEASON FELL...WITH MOSTLY
NORTHERN COUNTIES AVERAGING AROUND AN INCH. ON THE 22ND...HEAVY
RAIN...ON THE ORDER OF 2 TO 4 INCHES...FELL ACROSS MUCH OF THE
NORTHWEST TWO THIRDS OF THE COUNTY WARNING AREA. THE HEAVIEST
AMOUNTS WERE FROM GILES COUNTY...NORTHEAST TO RUTHERFORD AND DE KALB
COUNTIES. THE HARPETH AND DUCK RIVERS...AS WELL AS THE BUFFALO RIVER
NEAR LOBELVILLE...EXPERIENCED LIGHT TO MODERATE FLOODING. SCHOOL AND
ROAD CLOSURES RESULTED FROM CREEK AND STREAM FLOODING.

CROSSVILLE AVERAGED 42.9 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH...WHICH IS 7.8
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. TOTAL PRECIPITATION WAS 5.25 INCHES ...WHICH
IS .1 INCH ABOVE NORMAL. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 63 DEGREES ON
THE 4TH...WHILE THE COLDEST WAS 22 DEGREES ON THE 15TH AND 26TH.

CLARKSVILLE AVERAGED 44.8 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH AND TABULATED 4.69
INCHES OF PRECIPITATION. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 73 DEGREES ON
THE 2ND...WHILE THE COLDEST WAS 21 DEGREES ON THE 26TH.
