1155 AM CST THU NOV 24 2005

...IT WAS COLD AND SNOWY 55 YEARS AGO...

NASHVILLE RESIDENTS EXPERIENCED THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE
EVER RECORDED IN NOVEMBER...55 YEARS AGO TOMORROW...WHEN
THE TEMPERATURE FELL TO ONE BELOW ZERO. THE HIGH THAT DAY
WAS ONLY 19 DEGREES. ALSO...JUST A DAY OR TWO BEFORE...THERE
WAS 9.2 INCHES OF SNOWFALL ON NOVEMBER 23RD AND 24TH IN 1950...
WHICH STILL STANDS AS THE LARGEST AMOUNT OF SNOW TO FALL DURING
A 24 HOUR PERIOD FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER...AND IS 2ND LARGEST
SNOWFALL IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD SINCE 1950...ONLY SURPASSED BY
THE NEW YEARS EVE AND NEW YEARS DAY 1964 SNOWFALL OF 10.2 INCHES.

IT WON'T BE THAT COLD TOMORROW...AND WE ARE NOT EXPECTING ANY
SNOW...BUT WE ARE EXPECTING THE COLDEST TEMPERATURES OF THE SEASON
THUS FAR...WITH READINGS IN THE TEENS FRIDAY MORNING. THE HIGHS ON
FRIDAY WILL CLIMB TO AROUND 40 DEGREES DURING AFTERNOON...UNDER
MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES.
