THE WARM FRONT HAS MOVED NORTH OF THE MID STATE THIS
EVENING...AND AT 6 PM CST...WAS DRAPED JUST NORTH OF THE
TENNESSEE...KENTUCKY STATE LINE. MIDDLE TENNESSEE IS NOW IN
THE WARM SECTOR WITH SURFACE TEMPERATURES IN THE MID AND
UPPER 60S AND DEWPOINTS TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 60S.

THIS EVENINGS UPPER AIR SOUNDING...TAKEN HERE AT OLD HICKORY...
SHOWS WINDS JUST ABOVE THE SURFACE...ON THE ORDER OF 40 MILES
PER HOUR. THESE ARE RATHER STRONG LOW LEVEL WINDS.

SATELLITE IS SHOWING IMPULSE SPREADING NORTHEAST FROM TEXAS AND
LOUISIANA...ATOP A LOW LEVEL MOIST AXIS.

ALTHOUGH THERE IS A LACK OF INSTABILITY...STEEP LAPSE RATES...
AND WEAK LOW LEVEL SHEAR...THERE IS STILL SOME CONCERN FOR THE
POSSIBLE DEVELOPMENT OF STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS THIS EVENING IN
MIDDLE TENNESSEE. ONE CONCERN IS THE DEEP LAYER SHEAR IN PLACE
ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE WHICH IS ADEQUATE TO MAINTAIN ROTATION
IN SOME STORMS.

ONCE THE IMPULSE PASSES THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT WILL WEAKEN.

HOWEVER...THERE IS A BETTER OPPORTUNITY FOR SEVERE WEATHER ON
TUESDAY AS THE MAIN SYSTEM ROTATES ACROSS THE AREA. THIS IS
EXPECTED TO BE IN THE FORM OF A SQUALL LINE...POSSIBLY ENTERING
WESTERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE DURING THE AFTERNOON...CONTINUING
THROUGH THE EARLY EVENING.
