THE MONTH OF OCTOBER WAS WARM AND EXTREMELY DRY. AT NASHVILLE
AIRPORT...THE TOTAL RAINFALL WAS ONLY .02 INCH...WHICH IS 2.85
INCHES BELOW NORMAL. MORE SIGNIFICANTLY...THIS WAS THE SECOND DRIEST
OCTOBER ON RECORD...AS WELL AS THE SECOND DRIEST MONTH OF ALL TIME.
THE ONLY DRIER MONTH WAS OCTOBER OF 1963 WHEN ONLY A TRACE OF RAIN
FELL. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 61 DEGREES...WHICH
IS 1.1 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.

THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 89 DEGREES ON THE 19TH. THIS WAS A
RECORD FOR THE DATE AS WELL AS THE LATEST IN THE YEAR NASHVILLE EVER
RECORDED 89 DEGREES. THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE WAS 30 DEGREES ON THE
29TH.

CROSSVILLE AVERAGED 57.1 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH...WHICH IS 1.3 DEGREES
ABOVE NORMAL. THE TOTAL RAINFALL WAS 1.46 INCHES...WHICH IS 1.78
INCHES BELOW NORMAL. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 81 DEGREES ON THE
5TH AND 19TH...WHILE THE COLDEST WAS 29 DEGREES ON THE 29TH AND 30TH.

CLARKSVILLE AVERAGED 59.5 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH AND TABULATED 0.07
INCH OF RAIN. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 90 DEGREES ON THE
19TH...AND THE COLDEST WAS 27 DEGREES ON THE 29TH.
