URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NASHVILLE TN
1137 AM CST TUE MAR 1 2005

.LINGERING MOISTURE AND AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL
CONTINUE TO PRODUCE SNOW SHOWERS THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON. DUE TO THE
SCATTERED NATURE OF THESE SHOWERS...SOME AREAS MAY RECEIVE
ACCUMULATIONS WHILE OTHER AREAS DO NOT. ALSO...SOME OF THE SNOW
WILL MELT AS IT FALLS. GENERALLY...AROUND 1 INCH OF SNOW WILL BE ON
THE GROUND FOR MANY AREAS...WITH LOCALLY 2 INCHES FOR THE HIGHER
ELEVATIONS. THE SNOW SHOWERS WILL TAPER OFF LATE IN THE DAY.
ALONG WITH THE SNOW...CONDITIONS WILL BE QUITE BLUSTERY WITH
COLD TEMPERATURES AND GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS TO 25 MPH AT TIMES.
SOME SLICK ROADS CAN BE EXPECTED...AND THESE SLICK CONDITIONS MAY
CONTINUE THROUGH THE NIGHT...ESPECIALLY ON BACK ROADS.

SNOW SHOWERS. BECAUSE SOME SNOW WILL MELT SHORTLY AFTER IT FALLS...
ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE LIMITED TO AROUND 1 INCH FOR MOST LOCATIONS.
THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS ON AND NEAR THE PLATEAU COULD HAVE AS MUCH AS 2
INCHES ON THE GROUND AT TIMES.

SLICK ROADS ARE STILL A POSSIBILITY...ESPECIALLY BRIDGES AND
OVERPASSES. TRAVELERS SHOULD ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH THEIR
DESTINATIONS.
