BULLETIN...IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED
FLOOD WATCH
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NASHVILLE TN
400 AM CDT MON JUL 11 2005

...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE WILL CONTINUE THE
FLOOD WATCH FOR THE WEST PART OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE EFFECTIVE FROM 7 AM
CDT TODAY UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING. THE WATCH INCLUDES THE
FOLLOWING MIDDLE TENNESSEE COUNTIES...

BENTON...CHEATHAM...DAVIDSON...DICKSON...GILES...HICKMAN...HOUSTON...
HUMPHREYS...LAWRENCE...LEWIS...MARSHALL...MAURY...MONTGOMERY...
PERRY...ROBERTSON...STEWART...WAYNE...WILLIAMSON...AND
WILSON

THE REMNANTS OF HURRICANE DENNIS WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD MODERATE TO
OCCASIONALLY HEAVY RAIN INTO MIDDLE TENNESSEE FROM THE SOUTH TODAY.
THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE WESTERN COUNTIES OF
MIDDLE TENNESSEE...FROM CLARKSVILLE AND DOVER...DOWN TO LAWRENCEBURG
AND WAYNESBORO. AROUND TWO INCHES OF RAINFALL...WITH LOCAL AMOUNTS
GREATER THAN 3 INCHES...IS LIKELY IN THIS AREA. FOR OTHER AREAS WEST
OF INTERSTATE 65...1 TO 2 INCHES IS POSSIBLE BY TONIGHT.

MUCH OF THE REGION HAS BEEN PRETTY DRY FOR THE PAST TWO MONTHS AND
COULD BENEFIT FROM A COUPLE INCHES OF RAIN. HOWEVER...THERE
IS POTENTIAL FOR EVEN GREATER AMOUNTS OF RAIN FROM THIS
STORM. ALSO...TROPICAL DOWNPOURS FROM DENNIS MAY CAUSE VERY HEAVY
RAIN RATES. THE GREATEST THREAT IS LIKELY TO BE FLOODING IN NORMALLY
FLOOD-PRONE AREAS..AND STREET FLOODING.

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT FLOODING IS POSSIBLE...NOT IMMINENT. CHECK
YOUR PREPAREDNESS REQUIREMENTS...KEEP INFORMED...AND BE READY FOR
ACTION IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED OR IF A FLOOD WARNING IS ISSUED. MOST
FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. IF YOU ENCOUNTER WATER COVERING A
ROAD...TURN AROUND DON'T DROWN!

STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO...COMMERCIAL MEDIA OR YOUR CABLE
TELEVISION PROVIDER FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.
