...A SOMEWHAT DRY AND WARM JUNE...

AT NASHVILLE AIRPORT...THE MONTH OF JUNE WAS QUITE DRY...WITH ONLY
2.70 INCHES OF RAINFALL...WHICH IS 1.38 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. MOST OF
THE RAIN...HOWEVER...FELL BETWEEN THE 10TH AND 12TH IN ASSOCIATION
WITH THE REMAINS OF TROPICAL STORM ARLENE...AND AFTER THAT THE
MONTH WAS VERY DRY. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 76.8
DEGREES....WHICH IS 1.8 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE WARMEST
TEMPERATURE WAS 96 DEGREES ON THE 30TH...WHILE THE COOLEST WAS 58
DEGREES ON THE 17TH.

THE MIDSTATE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL MINOR SEVERE WEATHER EVENTS FOR THE
MONTH...WITH SOME WIND DAMAGE AND HAIL. THE STRONGEST STORMS
OCCURRED ON THE 14TH...WITH SOME DAMAGE REPORTED ACROSS THE NORTH
AND NORTHEAST...ESPECIALLY SUMNER COUNTY. SEVERAL HEAVY RAIN EVENTS
AFFECTED THE SOUTHEAST PORTIONS OF THE AREA ON THE 1ST AND 2ND...AND
AGAIN ON THE 6TH. OVER 2 INCHES OF RAIN FELL DURING THESE EVENTS.
TWO TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN FELL OVER THE WESTERN
THIRD OF THE REGION DURING ARLENE...WITH AMOUNTS DECREASING
SIGNIFICANTLY TO THE EAST.

CROSSVILLE AVERAGED 71.5 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH...WHICH IS 1.1
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE TOTAL RAINFALL WAS 1.65 INCHES...WHICH
IS 3.08 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 87 DEGREES
ON THE 27TH AND 30TH...WHILE THE COLDEST WAS 51 DEGREES ON THE
17TH.

CLARKSVILLE AVERAGED 75.0 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH AND TABULATED 3.79
INCHES OF RAIN. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 94 DEGREES ON THE 24TH
AND 26TH...AND THE COLDEST WAS 53 DEGREES ON THE 17TH.
