URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY CONTINUES IN EFFECT THIS AFTERNOON FOR
NORTHWEST PORTIONS OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE...

.A STORM SYSTEM OVER THE NORTHERN GULF OF MEXICO WILL MOVE
NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE TODAY. THIS STORM SYSTEM WILL
BRING A MIXTURE OF RAIN AND WINTRY PRECIPITATION TO THE MID STATE
TODAY AND INTO THIS EVENING.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS
AFTERNOON.

THE ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THAT PORTION OF MIDDLE TN GENERALLY
ALONG AND TO THE NORTHWEST OF A SPRINGFIELD...WAVERLY TO CAMDEN
LINE.

A MIXTURE OF RAIN AND SLEET HAVE OVERSPREAD THE ADVISORY AREA.
THIS PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE TO SNOW DURING THE AFTERNOON...AS
THE SURFACE LOW SLIDES TO THE EAST. ACCUMULATIONS OF SLEET AND
SNOW WILL APPROACH 2 INCHES BY LATE THIS AFTERNOON. WITH
TEMPERATURES HOVERING NEAR THE FREEZING MARK FOR MUCH OF THE
DAY...ROAD CONDITIONS WILL DETERIORATE ONCE THE PRECIPITATION
CHANGES TO SNOW. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS WHEN TRAVELING ACROSS
BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES AS THESE SURFACES WILL FREEZE FIRST.

THIS EVENING...SNOW SHOWERS WILL TAPER TO FLURRIES BEFORE ENDING
BY MID EVENING. COLDER AIR WILL FOLLOW THIS STORM SYSTEM WITH
LOWS FRIDAY MORNING IN THE UPPER TEENS.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR
FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.
