THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

       NORTHERN ARKANSAS
       MISSOURI BOOTHEEL
       EXTREME WESTERN TENNESSEE

EFFECTIVE THIS FRIDAY MORNING AND AFTERNOON FROM 620 AM UNTIL 100
PM CDT.

HAIL TO 1.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 50
STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 25 MILES SOUTHWEST OF
FAYETTEVILLE ARKANSAS TO 40 MILES EAST OF JONESBORO ARKANSAS.  FOR

REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA.
PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING
WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE
WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE
TORNADOES.

DISCUSSION...THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO INCREASE IN
COVERAGE PRIMARILY ACROSS NORTHWESTERN AND NORTHERN ARKANSAS OVER
THE NEXT FEW HOURS AS ISENTROPIC LIFT INTENSIFIES AHEAD OF
DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE OVER NORTHERN TX. SOME OF THIS ACTIVITY MAY
SPREAD EAST INTO PARTS OF THE MISSOURI BOOTHEEL AND WESTERN
TENNESSEE LATER THIS MORNING. MOIST LOW LEVEL AIRMASS BEING LIFTED
INTO REGION WITH VERY STEEP MID LEVEL LAPSE RATES AND STRONG
EFFECTIVE SHEAR WILL CONTRIBUTE TO ELEVATED SUPERCELLS CAPABLE OF
PRODUCING LARGE HAIL.

AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
TO 1.5 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 60
KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 450. MEAN STORM
MOTION VECTOR 26035.
