...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE HAS ISSUED A RIVER FLOOD WARNING
FOR THE HARPETH RIVER...


AFFECTING THESE COUNTIES IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE: CHEATHAM.

HARPETH RIVER NEAR KINGSTON SPRINGS...
*   FLOOD STAGE:         15 FEET.
*   LATEST STAGE:         8.5 FEET AND RISING AT 9 AM.
*   RIVER FORECAST:       EXPECTED TO RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE
                          THIS EVENING THEN CREST NEAR 17.5 FT
                          WEDNESDAY MORNING.
*   FLOOD CATEGORY:       THESE LEVELS WILL PRODUCE MINOR FLOODING.

AT 17.5 FEET, THE RIVER OVERFLOWS THE LEFT BANK AND FLOODS BOTTOMLAND
ALONG THE RIVER. SEVERAL SECONDARY ROADS NEAR THE RIVER GET CUT OFF.
THIS CREST COMPARES TO A PREVIOUS CREST OF 18.1 FEET WHICH OCCURRED APR 22,
2004.

IF POSSIBLE...AVOID AREAS NEAR THE HARPETH RIVER. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE
FLOOD WATERS AND REMEMBER...NEVER DRIVE THROUGH WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH.
TURN AROUND...DON'T DROWN.
