...A RIVER FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF THE ELK RIVER...

AFFECTING THESE COUNTIES IN ALABAMA: LIMESTONE AND IN TENNESSEE: GILES.

ELK RIVER NEAR PROSPECT...
*   FLOOD STAGE:         26.0 FEET.
*   LATEST STAGE:        19.6 FEET AND RISING AT 8 PM FRIDAY.
*   RIVER FORECAST:      EXPECTED TO RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE OF 26.0 FT LATE
SATURDAY MORNING THEN FORECAST TO CREST NEAR 27.0 FT SATURDAY EVENING. THE
RIVER IS FORECAST TO FALL BELOW FLOOD STAGE EARLY SUNDAY MORNING.

*   FLOOD CATEGORY:      THESE LEVELS WILL PRODUCE MINOR FLOODING.

AT THESE LEVELS...FLOOD WATERS APPROACH COUNTY ROAD 49...VETO ROAD...AND BETHAL
PROSPECT ROAD...BOTH JUST SOUTH OF PROSPECT.. THIS CREST COMPARES TO A PREVIOUS
CREST OF 27.3 FEET WHICH OCCURRED FEB 16 2003.

PERSONS LIVING ALONG THE RIVER AND THOSE WITH RIVER INTERESTS SHOULD CONTINUE TO
MONITOR WATER LEVELS. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.
